1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Kubo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must provide accurate information during registration
- You may only create one account
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@kubo.so.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Share content depicting minors in any context
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Use the app for commercial solicitation or spam
- Attempt to circumvent premium feature restrictions
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically collect data from the app
- Distribute malware or exploit security vulnerabilities
- Use the app to facilitate illegal activity
5. Content
Your content
You own the content you create (photos, messages, albums). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to host, transmit, and display it to other users as part of the service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
Content moderation
We may review content for violations of these terms. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our policies. We provide ban reasons and an appeals process for account actions.
Album content
Albums are private by default. You control who sees your album content through explicit grant and revocation. We do not access album content except for automated safety scanning (CSAM detection, content safety).
6. Premium Subscription
- Pricing: $10.99/month (iOS), $9.99/month (web), or $99.99/year
- Billing: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Cancellation: You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings. You retain Premium access until the end of the paid period
- Refunds: Handled by Apple (App Store) or your payment provider per their refund policies
- Downgrade: On downgrade, you keep your data. Features above the free tier are restricted to free tier limits (e.g., album counts, media limits). Some premium-only features become unavailable until you resubscribe
7. Safety
Kubo provides safety tools (Meet Mode, trusted contacts, location sharing) as aids, not guarantees. These tools are designed to help, but they cannot eliminate all risk associated with meeting people in person. Always exercise personal judgment and caution.
8. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your information.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
Kubo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, the accuracy of user profiles, or the behavior of other users.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kubo's liability for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
